Former Minister Udaya Gammanpila visited the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) this morning (June 9) to give a statement.
It is said that he went to the CID to explain a comment he made about the controversial release of 323 shipping containers.
While talking to media, Gammanpila said he plans to share the full list of all 323 containers involved in the issue.
He also claimed that there is information showing some officials responsible for the decisions about the release are trying to leave the country. Because of that, he said he would ask the CID to put a travel ban on those persons.
Gammanpila stressed that he has real evidence and would not make such claims without a reason. He called for a quick and full inquiry into the issue.
