The submission of nominations for the forthcoming Local Government (LG) Elections commences today (Jan 17).
The Election Commission announced that nominations will be received from today until 12 noon on March 20.
The filing of nominations for 336 Local Government bodies will start today, and the election date is expected to be revealed after the nomination process concludes.
Meanwhile, the submission of postal voting requests for the LG Elections will close at 12 midnight today.
The Election Commission urges eligible applicants who have not yet applied to send their postal voting applications to the District Election Office in the district where their institution operates, rather than mailing them.
The Commissioner General of Elections advises candidates to present nominations in a way that does not interfere with the G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L) exam, which starts today.
