(LK time)A police officer attached to the Negombo Police Station has been apprehended over his suspected connections with the female fugitive wanted in relation to the killing of notorious underworld leader and drug dealer Sanjeewa Kumara Samararatne, also called “Ganemulla Sanjeewa,” at the Aluthkade Courts Complex yesterday.
The officer in question is reportedly a Trainee Police Constable assigned to courtroom duty under the Negombo Police Crimes Unit and was taken into custody by the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD). He is a 25-year-old resident of Padeniya.
