Sri Lanka Police reveal that former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon is untraceable and avoiding detention.
Addressing a media briefing today (March 6), Police Media Spokesman SSP Buddhika Manathunga appealed to the public to share any details about his location with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Additionally, the Police Spokesman stressed that anyone aiding the former IGP in dodging arrest, despite an active warrant, will also be prosecuted under Article 209 of the Penal Code.
SSP Manathunga further assured that Deshabandu Tennakoon would not receive preferential treatment due to his past role as IGP and would be handled like any other accused person.
