(LK time)President Anura Kumara Dissanayake announced that Sri Lanka’s economy is expected to grow by around 5% in 2025.
Dissanayake further emphasized that economic development should occur in a way that provides opportunities for every citizen to participate in and benefit from the country’s growth, ensuring that the outcomes of this development are shared equitably across society.
Delivering the 2025 Budget Speech, the President also pointed out that economic growth should not only focus on expanding the economy but also serve as a means to raise the living standards of all sections of society.
Additionally, the President noted that the government plans to develop the country in a manner that positions it to repay its debt starting in 2028.
