(LK time)The Ministry of Agriculture has unveiled new, farmer-friendly paddy prices, ensuring better returns for cultivators. Agriculture Minister K.D. Lalkantha announced the updated rates during a special media briefing held on October 5.
According to the Minister, state institutions under the Department of Agriculture and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation have set reasonable prices to support farmers. The new rates are as follows:
Nadu Paddy: Rs. 120 per kilogram (dry)
Samba Paddy: Rs. 125 per kilogram
Keeri Samba Paddy: Rs. 132 per kilogram
These prices aim to provide financial stability to farmers and encourage sustainable agricultural practices.
