Three suspects taken into custody by the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) yesterday (22) regarding the assassination of infamous criminal Sanjeewa Kumara Samararatne, known as ‘Ganemulla Sanjeewa,’ were presented before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court today.
As a result, authorities secured a 24-hour detention permit to extensively question the three individuals, according to an Unusuma journalist.
Among the three, two were apprehended for aiding the shooter’s transportation, while the third suspect was detained for supplying the weapon used in the crime.
Law enforcement further stated that these individuals will be questioned under detention laws.
After evaluating the details submitted, Colombo Additional Magistrate Harshana Kekunawela authorized the police to proceed with their inquiries and instructed them to update the court on the progress.
